In the heart of the Bearn region lies a secret terroir. An amphitheatre of vines, suspended between heaven and earth on the road to Santiago de Compostella. A wine whose exceptional aromatic tension celebrates the nature that surrounds it.
Guirardel in a few words…
But its secret lies hidden from the light: the soil and subsoil are the result of a very strong geology, uplifted, folded and reworked during the formation of the Pyrenees. Here the vines rest on a powerful clay soil, covered with rolled pebbles carried by torrents and glaciers and, at depht, Jurançon poudingues, a kind of conglomerate of pebbles and siliceous gravel interspersed with sandstone, marl and clay.
Here, terroir and climate come together perfectly to produce great white wines of prodigious light and energy, depth and mineral vibrancy.
